President Nguyen Dinh Luan receives the Ambassador of Spain to Vietnam
On April 19, 2017, Ambassador of Spain to Vietnam H.E. María Jesús Figa López-Palop paid a visit to Hanoi University on the occasion of the event “Cultural Week of Spanish speaking countries” that is being conducted at Hanoi University. At the meeting, there was the presence of President Nguyen Dinh Luan, leaders of the International Office and the Department of Spanish Studies.
The visit of Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam coincides with Hanoi University’s cultural week of Spanish speaking countries. The event is an opportunity for students of not only Hanoi University and also students within Hanoi to expose to the culture of Spanish-speaking countries and have a comprehensive understanding of Spanish language.
At the meeting, H.E. María Jesús Figa López-Palop shared that during her time in the office the development of Vietnam’s education and universities is one of her top priorities. Accordingly, her visit to Hanoi University is one of her first visits to universities of Vietnam, showing the great attention of the Spanish Ambassador and Embassy for the research and education of Vietnam.
For his part, President Nguyen Dinh Luan highly appreciate the kinds words of H.E, express his deep gratitude to the Embassy of Spain to Vietnam for the ceaseless supports that the University has always received for many years, hoping that there will be more native lecturers come and provide a better learning quality for students of Hanoi University.
President Nguyen Dinh Luan, on the event, sent his kind invitation to the Ambassador to attend the seminar for Bachelor’s Degree students in Spanish Studies in the upcoming time. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese students to obtain multidimensional and comprehensive perspectives on the unique cultural features of the land of flamenco and bullfighting.
On the sideline of the meeting, President Nguyen Dinh Luan and Ambassador María Jesús Figa López-Palop attended a mini show of guitarist Mauricio Díaz Álvarez at Hanoi University. The show has become a highlight of Spanish-language Culture Week, attracting hundreds of staff, lecturers, and students.
