International Studies
As founded in 2002, the Faculty of International Studies (FIS) has been striving to improve its pedagogical methodology, update appropriate information and curricula, aiming to bring students with international sociology-cultural backgrounds.
TRAINING STRUCTURE
Goals of the program is to provide students with fundamental back ground of politics,economics, development and international integration, which enables students to carry researches, policy planning and provide solutions to specialized issues(International Relations, International Economics ,Development Studies and Regionology), aiming to meet demands for sociology-economic development and international integration of the country in a globalization context.
The training program is very suitable for any individuals who wish to work in foreign related factors or to have deeper studies to work outside Vietnam.
LECTURERS
– The Faculty has 18 contracted lecturers who possess doctor and master degrees and graduated from prestigious universities, such as Harvard University (USA), Queensland University (Australia), the University of Leeds (US), University of Louvain (Belgium), Indiana University (US), Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), etc.
– The Faculty has guest lecturers from USA, UK, Belgium, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Cameroon, Pakistan, etc.
– The staff lecturers have deep background and actual experience; many of them have been working in international organizations, multi-national corporations, and embassies in Vietnam;
– The curricula have been updated so as to be temporary with nowadays international and domestic intellectuals, which bring students with chances of social activities and help them accumulate experience for future employment.
STUDENTS
– The faculty has almost 300 full-time students, some of whom are from the USA, Australia, Cuba, Austria, Venezuela, Ukraine, etc.
– Students are dynamic, confident at seeking and joining outdoor activities such as charity, clubs, exchange programs, etc.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
– FIS has an exchange program with California University, Michigan, USA;
– Student Exchange Program with Gothenburg University (Sweden), Victoria University (Australia);
– Cooperation program with the Child Fund (Australia);
– Other internship programs and international community projects.
EMPLOYMENT
After graduation, students can:
– Continue taking the Master programs in or outside Vietnam;
– Work in state-owned organizations, foreign affairs organization, embassies, NGOs, development projects, and others;
– Work effectively in English, good team-work skills, and highly adaptive with multi-cultural working places.
