President Nguyen Dinh Luan received the Director of Cervantes Manila Institute
On 21 June 2017, Hanoi University welcomed Mr Madrid Aslvarez-Piller Carlos, Director of Cervantes Institute in Manila. President Nguyen Dinh Luan and representatives of the Univerisity’s department attended the reception Mr Madrid Aslvarez-Piker Carlos.
At the reception, President Nguyen Dinh Luan expressed his appreciation to the enthusiastic support of Mr Madrid Aslvarez-Piker Carlos for the University in recent years, sharing that Spanish language research and teaching are one of the University’s development strategies. The Cervantes Institute at the Hanoi University is playing an important role in development and promotion of Spanish language and culture in Vietnam, as well as Spanish language training for students in Vietnam.
The University expects the Department of Spanish to host the Spanish Language Proficiency Examination so that the University can support the students with learning standards, giving students the opportunity standardize their language competence globally.
At the end of the meeting, the Cervantes Institute and Hanoi University agreed to develop a mutual, insightful and sustainable cooperation, which would contribute to the education of the future generation.
The Cervantes Institute has two main missions:
- To train Spanish language lecturers, providing them with the opportunity not only to work in Vietnam but also to teach abroad;
- To train and issue Certification of Spanish language competence that allows Vietnamese learners to be able to have their language certificate recognized globally.
