Vietnamese Language & Culture
The Vietnamese Studies Department was founded in 2004 and has been a prestigious institute offering the full time Vietnamese Studies program to international students.
TRAINING STRUCTURE
LECTURERS
– The Department has 20 contracted and over 30 guest lecturers;
– The majority of lecturers hold the doctor or master degrees of Vietnamese Language Studies or Vietnamese Studies; some of them taught the Vietnamese language in USA, China, Poland, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, etc.
STUDENTS
– The Department has educated more than 5,000 students from almost 30 countries and territories, such as China, Russia, Japan, Korea, UK, France, Germany, Turkey, Cuba, Italy, Poland, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, etc. The Department’s delivery has met international students’ demand for learning the Vietnamese language, culture, people, as well as their demand for working in international organizations in Vietnam;
– The international students have opportunities to visit Vietnam’s famous and heritage places, aiming to further learn the Vietnamese cultures; additionally, internship courses at industrial or processing zones in Hanoi are provided to students;
– Students have chances to join ourdoor activities, such as multi-national Culture Exchange Day, Vietnamese Speaking Contest, Vietnamese Cooking Contest,etc.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
– There are agreements of exchanging experts and full time students (0+4, 3+1, 2+2, or short course from 1 month to 2 years) with prestigious universities, such as the University of Wisconsin (USA), Osaka University, Kanda University of Foreign Studies, Tenri University (Japan), Mahasarakham University, Srinakhansinwiot University, Thammasat University (Thailand), etc.and Chinese universities.
EMPLOYMENT
After graduation, the student can apply jobs as suggested followings:
– Lecturer/teacher of the Vietnamese language;
– Interpreter/Translator in organizations, companies, etc.
– Officials of representative office of a nation in Vietnam or of Vietnam’s offices in overseas;
– Researchers of the Vietnamese Language and Culture;
– Businessmen of different areas that use the Vietnamese language in transactions
