JOINT PROGRAM BETWEEN HANOI UNIVERSITY (VIETNAM) AND NARA WOMEN’S UNIVERSITY (JAPAN)
MASTER OF JAPANESE STUDIES

Candidates:
Applicants must have recognized the bachelor’s degree in Japanese Studies or related majors.
Entry requirements:
Applicants must have N1 certificate of Japanese proficiency or equivalent proof, as well as satisfying other program’s eligibility requirements in accordance with Vietnamese and Japanese Government regulations on post-graduate training.
Course structure:
The two-year master program of Japanese Studies is constructed and developed by Hanoi University and Nara Women’s University. It comprises 36 ETCS (European Credit Transfer System), divided into 3 phases:
• Phase 1 (6 months): Students complete 14 credits at Hanoi University.
• Phase 2 (1 year): Students complete 14 credits at Nara Women’s University.
• Phase 3 (6 months): Students complete graduation thesis (equivalent to 8 credits) at Hanoi University.
Teaching language: Japanese
Teaching faculty: Lecturers of Hanoi University and Nara Women’s University.
Training scale: 06 students per year from each university.
Training location: Hanoi University (Km 9 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) and Nara Women’s University (630-8506 Nara-shi, Kita Uoya Higashi Machi).
Qualification: Upon completion, students will be awarded 2 master degrees – Master of Japanese Studies to be conferred by Hanoi University and Master of Japanese language and culture to be conferred by Nara Women’s University.
Tuition fee: Total expected tuition fee is VND 60,700,000 Vietnamese dong per student.
Entrance examination: The exam is offered annually in August, following the current Vietnam’s regulation on post-graduate training.
