Information Technology
As started delivering a full-time Information Technology program since 2005, the Faculty of Information Technology has been developing into one of the strategic faculties of Hanoi University. All courses are offered in English only.
TRAINING STRUCTURE
LECTURERS
– The Department has 30 lecturers of whom there are 2 Associate Professors, more than 90% of them hold Master and Doctor degrees awarded by international universities; some lecturers work and carry research outside Vietnam;
– Guest lecturers and professors from international universities are often invited to the Department and deliver lectures to local students.
STUDENTS
– Postgraduate students: 40;
– Full-time students: 800;
– Students enrolling in Basic Computer Science: 6.000.
– Students are interested in activities that support their studies, such as website creation and national or international competitions (Olympic, Microsoft);
– Joint Union, Students’ Association of the FIT dynamically participate in public activities, such as charities, youth volunteers, etc.
– The FIT students have opportunities at exchange programs to Australia, Italy, and Japan.
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
The FIT has implemented signed agreements with international universities, such as:
– The University of Central Lancashire, UK;
– Monash University, Australia;
– The University of Canberra, Australia;
– Auckland University, New Zealand;
– Chung-ang University, Korea;
– Qing Hua University, China;
– The University of Catania, Italy;
– The University of Camerino, Italy;
– National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Japan.
EMPLOYMENT
With advanced programs learned from international universities, FIT students have advantages after graduation: good professional skills, advanced technology background, outstanding English skills, together with excellent presentations and dynamic characteristics, etc. Such qualifications are so different from ones of traditional pedagogical methods.
Job possibilities for graduates are as follows:
– IT Advisor for enterprises, especially joint venture companies, international organizations or NGOs;
– Research officers of universities or institutes;
– Officers of software, network and communication, confidentiality systems,etc;
– Officers of creation or electro-commerce systems;
– Officers of maintaining IT systems in organizations.
