Accounting
Founded in 2002, the Faculty of Management and Tourism (FMT) has been the first faculty in Vietnam that has 100% subjects delivered in the English language. The Faculty’s curricula and textbooks are at a standard level as in UK, Australia, or the USA. Besides, FMT also offers training courses in areas of accounting, audit, financial analysis, etc.
TRAINING STRUCTURE
LECTURERS
– More than 80% of lecturers hold the Master and Doctor degrees from Australia, UK, and the USA;
– Guest lecturers have real experience and are experts in management or finance of corporations, tourist companies or 4-5 star hotels.
STUDENTS
– The Faculty has almost 1600 students;
– Students are creative, dynamic, and enthusiastic in social activities, such as Sharing Smiles organization, One Heart Land, Clubs of Marketing, Accounting, Stock, TRC Tourism Community, SIFE project for the public, etc.
– Students were champions at the CFA Research Challenge held by the Certified Finance Analyst Institute in 2011; students also got a copper prize for their business ideas held by HSBC in Hong Kong;
– Students have opportunities to enroll in similar programs in prestigious universities once they successfully complete the 2nd and/or 3rd year.
– Scholarship opportunities are given to students by enterprises (KPMG, Unilever), universities (Singapore National University, Shogun University – Korea), and other organizations in Vietnam, etc..
GOAL EDUCATION
Common goal
To provide training courses of Bachelor of Accounting with an aim to produce highly qualified graduates who are knowledgeable at socio-economic background, business administration, accounting – audit system technology, business operating analysis; be able to plan accounting – audit policies, etc.so as to meet Vietnam’s demand for socio-economic development and integration
Specific goal
– To train graduates of accounting who are proficient in international latest accounting background, especially one of developed countries like USA, Australia, and the UK, as well as Vietnam’s accounting practice. Students can possess basic and specialized accounting background, well-aware of international accounting – audit standards, good at analyzing financial reports and corporate operations. Additionally, graduates can speak English very well to be employed in dynamic workplace;
– The program provides students with updated accounting knowledge; the program consists of basic accounting background and advanced financial report knowledge;
– Foundation background provides students with accounting principles, accounting systems, financial report preparation, accounting information systems, administrative accounting, etc. Knowledge of international and Vietnamese accounting and audit standards are also compared and updated;
– Advanced background supplements financial report frameworks, accounting skills, accounting and audit policy selections, other complicated issues in the financial reports, accounting administrative and control system.
Training duration: 4 years (9 semesters)
