Hanoi University launches the 16th Italian language week.
On October 17, 2016, the 16th Italian Language Week has been organized in Hanoi University. Since 2000, this event has been annually sponsored by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to promote Italian language and culture to all over the world.
The event was attended by Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Cecilia Piccioni and Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Beatrice Maser Mallor.
Every year, the diplomatic and cultural network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy chooses a theme for this initiative and organizes a series of events in the third week of October
In 2016, the event marks its 16th worldwide anniversary with the chosen theme is “Italian and creativity”. In collaboration with Italian Embassy to Vietnam, it is also the 3rd event that organized in Hanoi University.
During this week, visitors shall have an opportunity to experience a variety of events including the opening ceremony, culture and food fair, “Italian and creativity” seminar and La Notte di Passione musical concert.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President Nguyen Dinh Luan stressed the importance and the role of this initiative, since not only does it help students from Hanoi University but also those have a passion for Italy to understand more about the people, culture, and the Italian language.
The President expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the precious contribution of the Italian Embassy to Vietnam to the Department of Italian Studies in terms of teaching, learning and cultural activities.
For her part, Mrs. Cecilia Piccioni highly lauded these meaningful series of events and expressed her gratefulness to Hanoi University for its contribution to the leading university in Vietnam that makes Italian become more and more popular in the past few years. The Italian Embassy to Vietnam pledges to continue supporting and cooperating with Hanoi University in bringing the Italian language closer to Vietnamese people.
Hanoi University is the first higher education institute in Vietnam that provides Bachelor’s Degree program in Italian Studies. With more than 15 years of experience, the University is asserting its indispensable role in the development of Italian language in Vietnam.
