Hanoi University and University of Canberra consider expanding cooperation areas
HANU – On the afternoon of October 28, 2022, Vice Rector Chris Gartner and the delegation from the University of Canberra (Australia) visited and worked at Hanoi University. This visit of Vice Rector Gartner aims to strengthen the bilateral partnership between the two institutions.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Van Trao stated that years ago, the University of Canberra was one of the higher education institutions in Australia that received many scholars from Vietnam in the field of linguistics. Thanks to the relationship between the University of Canberra with Vietnamese partners as well as with Hanoi University that has been realized over the years, President Trao hopes that this tradition will continue and develop further so as to produce high-quality human resources for Vietnam. President Trao also suggests that the two universities could have joint research projects and consider expanding and diversifying fields of cooperation in addition to the Master’s degree program in TESOL & FLT.
Both Universities agreed with the tentative proposals.
Vice Rector Gartner said that due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, he was very pleased to have an opportunity to return to Vietnam, aiming to visit and work with Hanoi University. Vice Rector Gartner hoped that through this working session, the cooperation relationship between the two universities could be further strengthened upon consideration for cooperation expansion. He also suggested that both institutions could implemented concrete activities, such as student exchange, faculty exchange, 2+2 program…
Both Leaders of the Universities agreed on such tentative plans, and follow-ups would be corresponded.
