Kwangwoon University (Korea) and Hanoi University: Open up many opportunities for cooperation
On April 9, 2019, President of Kwangwoon University – Mr. Ji Sang Yoo led the delegation to visit and work with Hanoi University. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao – President of the Hanoi University; together with deans and heads of Korea Studies, Information and Technology Department, Academic Affairs Department and International Office joined the reception.
At the meeting, President Nguyen Van Trao expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation and took the opportunity to introduce Mr. Ji Sang Yoo an overview of the history and training programmes of the University, affirming that Hanoi University is the training institution for many foreign languages in Vietnam. Thus, Korean Studies Department of the university, with 17 years of development, is considered one of the most prestigious Korean language teaching department in Vietnam. Besides, the Information and Technology Department of the university has 800 students who are fully studying in English. In 2019, the department has a new area of training that is Multimedia Communication. With these innovations, the university is always ready to create conditions for HaNU students to study abroad and welcome students from other countries to study at the university.
In return, President Ji Sang Yoo also introduced Kwangwoon University, a private university founded in 1934 with the strength of Information Technology and Electronics. The university has about 9,000 students with around 200 international students studying at the university. The visit of the President of Kwangwoon University this time will be the basis for the two sides to discuss and exchange some prospect for cooperation; agreeing to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement in the coming time.
The two sides exchanged openly and wished to expand cooperation opportunities to have specific action programmes to promote their potentials and strengths, implementing programs and events to create more learning opportunities for students and faculty of both sides.
