Hanoi University strengthens and expands cooperation with partners in Europe
From May 17 to 20, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao, President of Hanoi University, led the University’s delegation to visit and work with partners in the Italian Republic and Swiss Federation.
On May 17, 2022, the Delegation worked with the University of Ferrara (Unife), Republic of Italy. At the meeting, Prof. Laura Ramaciotti, Rector and Prof. Paola Spinozzi, Unife’s Vice Rector in charge of internationalization, expressed her delight at the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao at the Ferrara University campus, and considered the visit as a high commitment of Hanoi University in the bilateral cooperation. The two sides discussed many cooperation opportunities, such as Unife’s continual offers of full doctoral scholarships given to HANU, joint submission for the KA107 Erasmus+ program application, reciprocal student exchanges, Unife’s nomination of post-graduate students to HANU for Italian teaching internships, etc. The two institutions agreed to sign a variety of cooperation agreements in the above-mentioned fields, expectedly starting from the academic year 2022-2023.

On May 18, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao and the HANU delegation attended the Workshop themed “Graduation students and the labor market” in Bologna city, Republic of Italy, organized and chaired by AlmaLaurea organization (AlmaLaurea InterUniversities Consortium). The workshop is within the framework of the project MOTIVE – Monitoring employment trends of graduates in Vietnam, attracting participation of more than 50 delegates from European and Vietnamese universities, project partners, and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. On the European side, there are participation of FH Joaneum University of Applied Sciences (Austria Republic); University of Barcelona (Spain); International Consulting and Mobility Agency, INCOMA (Spain); Assessment and Evaluation Organization, ANECA (Spain).

As the National Coordinator School of the project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao gave a speech appreciating the project’s goal in helping higher education institutions improve their capacity to implement the projects, conduct surveys on post-graduation student employment. On the basis of collected data, higher education institutions have annual review and adjustments of the training programs, quality accreditatoin, and assessment of graduates’ satisfaction towards the requirements of the market. labor school. Such information is helpful at adjusting and building training programs, which are able to practically meet social needs. At this forum, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao also called on participation of member schools in the project, aiming to have continual and effective cooperation and extend their commitments to the goals of the next phase of the proposed project.

Also, during this business trip, on May 20, Geneva University, Switzerland and Hanoi University signed an extension of cooperation agreement for a new period. Accordingly, the two universities agreed to continue student exchange programs, faculty exchange programs, and coordinate in preparing documents for participation in Erasmus+ projects.
On May 21, the delegation left for the country, successfully ending the business trip with many new cooperation opportunities opening up in the near future.
