HANU – This morning, April 27, 2022, Hanoi University and IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems (Austria) held a signing ceremony of an agreement to expand bilateral cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Heinz Boyer – Founder of the University, Chairman of Board of Directors and Mr. Karl C. Ennsfellner – CEO of IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems (Austria). From Hanoi University, participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao, President, the Board of Directors and representatives of offices and departments of the University.

Hanoi University and IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems (Austria) started cooperation to deliver the Bachelor of Business Program majoring in Tourism, Hotel and Tourism Management from 2014. The program has had 06 graduation courses till now, with hundreds of students having graduated. From this strong foundation, Hanoi University and IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems (Austria) are going to their cooperation to the field of Nursing. In Austria now, with rising demands, especially after the Covid pandemic, the nation has been short of young, skilled and knowledgeable nursing human resources.

The tentative Nursing program is going to be conducted both in Vietnam and then in Austria. Students of the Nursing program will be trained from the nursing assistant level to the Bachelor’s one, awarded by the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems. The implementation of this cooperation will be under the patronage of the government of Lower Austria. Accordingly, all study costs will be covered by the State of Lower Austria, who also guarantees graduates a labor contract of at least 5 years at medical facilities and nursing homes in Lower Austria. Same remuneration is going to be offered to graduates as ones to locals.

After this signing ceremony, both institutions plan to work closely to discuss more details for the Nursing program. The expansion of this cooperation agreement has raised the bilateral cooperation relationship between Hanoi University and the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems to a new level, bringing Vietnamese learners more study and work opportunities in Austria in future.
