The joint programme between Hanoi University and the University of Waikato facilitates Vietnamese students with the opportunity to study in the world’s leading Bachelor’s program in business

HANU – On the morning of June 25, 2021, President Nguyen Van Trao had an online meeting with Prof. Dr. Neil Quigley, President of the University of Waikato, New Zealand. The content of the meeting is to promote the two sides’ bilateral cooperation activities and coordinate the implementation of the Bachelor of Business training cooperation program (2+2 model) between the two universities.


At the meeting, Hanoi University affirms its commitment to enrollment and training quality in the first phase of this program. Accordingly, most prospective students of the programme achieved a GPA from 8.0 with  IELTS6.0 or higher, and their learning results in phase 1 were excellent.

The University of Waikato is committed to accompanying Hanoi University in this joint program, providing Bachelor’s and Master’s scholarships for excellent students. In which, students who transfer to the second stage of the Bachelor of Business program (2+2) are entitled to a 10% discount on tuition fees for their first year studying in New Zealand and they would have the opportunity to be considered for a 10,000 New Zealand dollars scholarship.


The University of Waikato also shared that the New Zealand government will give priority to visas for international students studying joint programs between universities in Vietnam and New Zealand. The meeting took place in an intimate, brief but effective atmosphere, bringing a positive impact in bilateral activities, encouraging the spirit of cooperation of the two sides.

Hanoi University is honoured to cooperate with the University of Waikato to implement the Bachelor programme in business. This is the programme that puts the University of Waikato in the top 1% of the world’s elite business schools with the prestigious Triple Crown certificate. Ms. Sharon Calvert, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the University of Waikato affirmed: Hanoi University has always been a leading partner of the University of Waikato in the present and future period.
