Hanoi University and IMC FH KREMS University signed an extension of cooperation agreement
HANU – In 2013, Hanoi University and IMC FH KREMS University (Austria) signed a cooperation agreement for a Bachelor’s program in Tourism and Travel Management. This is a training program awarded by IMC Krems University. Since the first enrollment course in 2014, the program has successfully organised 5 graduate courses with a total of 190 students (of which 70 students had the opportunity to study from 3 weeks to 1 year in Austria) and 84 students graduated.
On the afternoon of June 17, 2021, Hanoi University and IMC FH KREMS University signed an agreement to renew the cooperation agreement for the Bachelor of Business Program in Tourism and Travel Management in the online form. Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Van Trao – President of the University; Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung – Vice President in charge of training; Directors of International Office, Center for International Education, Hanoi University. On the side of IMC Krems University, there were Dr. Heinz Boyer – Chairman of the Board of Directors; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karl C. Ennsfellner – Rector; Dr. Christian Kümmel – Director of International Training Program and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Margin Waiguny – Academic Director.
The signing ceremony is organised in order to review the implementation of the contents signed under the original agreement between the two universities and at the same time supplementing some new contents aiming to bring more benefits to students. In addition, from 2021 students will be connected to the Erasmus scholarship program in which the best student will be awarded a scholarship worth 5,500 EUR every year to study in the Republic of Austria.
The highlight of the Bachelor of Business Program in Tourism and Tourism Management is that the subjects cover important practical knowledge and skills in tourism and recreation management, from developing marketing strategies to human resources, customer relations, professional ethics and quality assessment.
The program also offers specialized modules that are new in Vietnam such as resort and tourism wellness, tourism events, etc. The teaching method of the program focuses on forging practice practical skills, self-study skills, problem-solving skills. In particular, studying in an international environment will help students practice initiative and flexibility in real situations.
During the 3-year course at Hanoi University, all students of the program have the opportunity to study for 3 weeks in Austria, students with excellent academic achievements have the opportunity to receive a scholarship t ostudy in Austria. The opportunity to study in Austria is a bridge for Vietnamese students to come to the international learning environment, visit and experience Austria and European countries.
