Opportunity for Hanoi University students to work as interns in the United States
HANU – With the desire to create opportunities to study and cultivate expertise in the field of restaurants and hotels, tourism and travel management for students, on June 5, 2019, Deputy Director in charge of personnel of Broadmoor Hotel (USA) – Ms. Cindy Johnson and Deputy F&B Director, Mr. John Johnston,e and representatives of CIEE International Education Council and Speedwing Training (Asia) Pte Ltd visited and worked at the University Hanoi.
Vice President Nguyen Thi Cuc Phuong and the representative of the Academic Affairs Department, Faculty of Business Administration and Tourism, Students and Cooperation Affairs Department and International Office received and worked with the delegation. This visit is the first meeting between Hanoi University and partners from Speedwing, Broadmoor and CIEE which allow the partners to introduce to the university leaders and potential students to career opportunities in the field of restaurants and hotels, as well as interviewing students to participate in their courses.
At the meeting, Vice President Nguyen Thi Cuc Phuong welcomed the delegation to visit, highlighting that the cooperation with domestic and foreign business organizations in training as well as the introduction of internship opportunities for students are always the main focus of the University. The Vice President highly appreciated the working program of the delegation at the University as it is a very valuable occasion to help students obtain the opportunity to work in a high-class environment, such as 5-star hotels and resorts. This is also the opportunities for students to practice and improve professional skills before actually working after graduation. Thus, HaNU students would have more opportunities in their jobs after graduation.
According to the report of the Faculty of Business Administration and Tourism, after years of promotion with the support of REI (USA), in 2019, Hanoi University had 01 student recruited into the internship program at Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado, USA for a year. This is a good signal, demonstrating the training quality of the university.
After the meeting, the partners had a seminar with students where they held interviews with students to select outstanding individuals to participate in training courses. The results of the interview will be announced later.
