Promoting cooperation opportunities between Hanoi University and the Philippine Embassy
HANU – On the morning of November 29, 2018, President of Hanoi University – Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Trao received Mr Noel Servigon, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Trao shared with Mr Noel Servigon recent development and innovation of Hanoi University over the past few years in training activities and international programmes. The two had a friendly discussion about its facilities and the needs related to education, particularly language training.
As stated by Ambassador Noel Servigon, the Philippine Embassy wishes to establish new collaboration with English language training universities due to the needs of the Philippine Embassy for interpreters. With high-quality training programmes in languages training, TESOL, interpreting and translation, Hanoi University is a prestigious foreign language training address in Vietnam and the region that the Embassy hopes to cooperate in the future.
During his visit, Mr Noel Servigon also emphasised the role of foreign language training in helping the two countries of different cultures understand and come closer together. Through the cooperation with Hanoi University, Mr Noel Servigon hopes that there will be more learning and working opportunities for students of Vietnamese and Filipinos; thus, contributing to the development of the two countries.
President Nguyen Van Trao expressed his wish that the two sides will continue to explore and develop sustainable cooperation plans on international training programmes, research and exchange programmes for lecturers and students. Hanoi University always welcomes Filipino students and teachers to come and study at the university so that they can improve their capacity, teaching expertise and interpreting, translation skills.
