Deputy Ambassador of Finland visited Hanoi University: Looking forward to creating more cooperation opportunities
On February 27, 2019, Mr Janne Oksanen – Finnish Ambassador to Hanoi, Ms Anna Korpi – Counsellor of Education and Science, and Embassy attaché visited Hanoi University. Vice President Pham Ngoc Thach, Heads of International Office, Department of Business Administration and Tourism received the delegation.
At the reception, Vice President Pham Ngoc Thach expressed his pleasure of receiving Ms Janne Oksanen at the university for the first time, hoping that this visit will expand the diplomatic connection between the Embassy of Finland and Hanoi University to create new cooperation opportunities based on initiatives that benefit both sides.
In recent years, Finland has focused on developing new collaborations with countries in Southeast Asia, especially, on the field of education with universities in Vietnam. Mr Janne Oksanen highly appraised Hanoi University for achievements obtained in teaching to bring learning and exchange opportunities for students.
Vice President Pham Ngoc Thach and heads of departments also expressed the desire to promote the cooperation between the two sides in the exchange programmes for students, teachers, research and developing training programmes in English like Business Administration, Tourism Administration.
In particular, Hanoi University wishes to receive enthusiastic support from the Embassy of Finland for HANU’s Hackathon 2019 competition. In 2018, Hanoi University was honoured to host the successful event JUNCTIONxHanoi – the opening place for the first activities of the Hackathon community in Vietnam. This is a very useful and interesting playground, creating opportunities for young students who love technology to interact with international friends.
Both sides expect cooperation and success in the future.
